L'efficienza energetica abbatte più emissioni di eolico e fotovoltaico.

Alla prima giornata della Conferenza “L’altra strada per la transizione” gli Amici della Terra presentano due rapporti, uno sull’effettivo andamento delle emissioni climalteranti rispetto agli obbiettivi UE, l’altro sulla scarsità delle materie prime necessarie al Green Deal.

La Presidente Tommasi: “la riduzione delle emissioni dovute al miglioramento di efficienza energetica sono state molto superiori rispetto a quelle ottenute dal consumo di energia elettrica prodotta dalle energie rinnovabili elettriche intermittenti. Un risultato non comparabile rispetto agli incentivi elargiti. Per questo chiediamo che il Governo riveda il PNIEC ponendo come priorità l’efficienza energetica”. Roma, 28/11/2023 - Oggi più che mai gli Amici della Terra evidenziano quanto avevano già dichiarato nelle edizioni precedenti della Conferenza: finora l’Unione Europea ha perseguito approcci ideologici, come il tutto rinnovabile con tecnologie intermittenti e inadeguate alla transizione senza tenere conto del principio di neutralità tecnologica.   Il rapporto “Obiettivi e realtà delle politiche climatiche UE in Italia” che gli Amici della Terra hanno presentato oggi 28 novembre in apertura della XV Conferenza Nazionale per l’Efficienza energetica, evidenzia come gli obiettivi imposti dalla UE non sono raggiungibili e ancora meno lo saranno quelli più sfidanti richiesti al 2030.   “In particolare, la scelta di intervenire privilegiando alcune tecnologie anziché limitarsi ad indicare scopi ed obiettivi si è dimostrata fallimentare” rimarca Monica Tommasi presidente degli Amici della Terra. “Stiamo sbagliando approccio. Occorre ripartire dall’analisi dei dati. In Italia, ad esempio, i risultati di ormai quasi 20 anni di forte incentivazione ad eolico e fotovoltaico hanno portato nel 2022, ad un contributo di entrambe le fonti del 3,8% sui consumi finali di energia, pari a circa 4 Mtep. Allo stesso tempo, grazie agli effetti degli investimenti in miglioramenti di efficienza energetica tra il 2008 e il 2021 sono stati conseguiti risparmi annuali di energia (o consumi evitati) per 16 Mtep pari al 14% dei consumi finali del 2021, cioè quattro volte tanto. (Vedi nel report Figura 5. Per questo chiediamo che il Governo riveda completamente il PNIEC ponendo come priorità l’efficienza energetica” conclude Tommasi.   L’altro dossier “Materie prime: Il costo energetico della scarsità” firmato dall’Ing. minerario degli Amici della Terra Giovanni Brussato tratta della scarsità e del contenuto energetico delle materie prime. Il paper evidenzia come le tecnologie verdi centrali nell’impostazione del Green Deal europeo necessitino di una quantità di materie prime mai estratta prima dal genere umano. La sessione del pomeriggio affronterà il tema dei trasporti. On the first day of the Conference "The other path for the transition", the Friends of the Earth present two reports, one on the actual trend of climate-changing emissions compared to the EU objectives, the other on the scarcity of the raw materials necessary for the Green Deal. President Tommasi: “the reduction in emissions due to the improvement in energy efficiency were much higher than those obtained from the consumption of electricity produced by intermittent electrical renewable energies. Press kit constantly updated based on the interventions at this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Fr6yZO6N07HuNYr6LMaN-epDecUWfiQ0?usp=sharing   Rome, 28/11/2023 - Today more than ever the Friends of the Earth highlight what they had already declared in previous editions of the Conference: so far the European Union has pursued ideological approaches, such as entirely renewable with intermittent technologies and inadequate for the transition without taking account of the principle of technological neutrality.   The report "Objectives and reality of EU climate policies in Italy" that the Friends of the Earth presented today 28 November at the opening of the XV National Conference for Energy Efficiency, highlights how the objectives imposed by the EU are not achievable and will be even less so the most challenging ones required for 2030. “In particular, the choice to intervene by favoring certain technologies rather than simply indicating goals and objectives has proven to be a failure” remarks Monica Tommasi, president of the Friends of the Earth. “We are taking the wrong approach. We need to start again from data analysis. In Italy, for example, the results of almost 20 years of strong incentives for wind and photovoltaic have led in 2022 to a contribution of both sources of 3.8% on final energy consumption, equal to approximately 4 Mtoe. At the same time, thanks to the effects of investments in energy efficiency improvements between 2008 and 2021, annual energy savings (or avoided consumption) of 16 Mtoe were achieved, equal to 14% of final consumption in 2021, i.e. four times as much. This is why we ask that the Government completely review the PNIEC, placing energy efficiency as a priority" concludes Tommasi.   The other dossier “Raw materials: The energy cost of scarcity” signed by Eng. mining of the Friends of the Earth Giovanni Brussato deals with the scarcity and energy content of raw materials. The paper highlights how the green technologies central to the European Green Deal require a quantity of raw materials never before extracted by mankind. The afternoon session will address the topic of transport. The work will continue tomorrow with the third session dedicated to efficiency in industry and the fourth to the energy requalification of buildings.
